Auditory (Sound)

 

The auditory system is responsible for hearing. It enables us to filter and interpret the sounds we hear. Some children have difficulty interpreting auditory information and may be over or under responsive to auditory input received. A child that is hypo-sensitive (under-responsive) to auditory input often seek out sounds i.e. banging instruments or sing. A child that is hyper-sensitive (over-responsive) to auditory input may be afraid of loud noises, have difficulty concentrating in a noisy environment or cover their ears.
