Visual

The visual system is responsible for seeing. It enables us to be aware of contrast, colour, shapes, sizes and motion. Visual processing is our ability to make sense of the visual input the eyes receive. Some children have difficulty interpreting visual information and may be over or under responsive to visual input received. A child that is hypo-sensitive (under-responsive) to visual input may have difficulty locating an object amongst other things, or become fixated and stare at objects. A child that is hyper-sensitive (over-responsive) to visual input may notice the tiniest details, hate bright lights or avoid eye contact.
